Catching Up

I have decided that time flies by way too fast!! Porter is already 3 months. I just want him to stay little forever, but he is growing. I have gone back to work now, and am having the hardest time with it. But it is only 3 long days! As of lately Port has decided he does not like to nurse. So we are to bottle feeding. Which makes me sad cus I loved nursing! So I am still going to try to at least once a day! He also is rolling over! He did once when he was a week over, on accident I think, but now he really can. I was at work on Friday, and Ben calls me so excited cus he said he rolled over, and got it on camera! How random Ben was video recording him during tummy time, and caught his first real roll over on camera! I am trying to figure out how to upload the video on here, but I am not very computer smart (that's why below picutres are not turned around). Also, I thank everyone for their advice about how to get Port to sleep in his crib. We decided that Thanksgiving weekend would be ideal........It was a terrible night our first night.Then on Thanksgiving he was nasty, and that was the day he decided he hated nursing. So we gave up! ha, but we will try again Christmas break, and we will suceed! Wish us luck! But we are doing good, Ben is looking forward to finals coming up, and we are looking forward to Porter's first Christmas!

Speaking of Christmas..

Cortney and Rodger had us over to make gingerbread houses at their lovely new home! Ben and I didn't get to finish us, cus Port was being a stinker..what's new?!

HELP..advice wanted

So here is my dillema....

Porter does not like to sleep in his own crib. Yes I am a terrible parent and made the mistake awhile back of bringing him to bed with me..cus at the time it was good, we all got more sleep!

Well now I want him to sleep in his own crib....not that easy!

He goes to bed and will last only an hour or two (more lately just an hour) in his crib. So I will try giving him his binky but he just cries and cries so I take him out put him back to sleep. I think all is dandy he will go back in..but as SOON as I put him down he wakes up crying! (talk about spoiled and he knows it)

Well by then I am tired (well when am I not tired?) so I give in and take him to bed. well then he will wake up for his night feeding. go back to sleep and maybe last 40 minutes in his crib. and we are on the same cylce. So he comes to bed with me till morning.

So yes, I want to get him to sleep in his crib...but how? I really want to keep him on his same eating schedule and night cus its wonderful! Only if he was not in my bed!

Is crying it out the only option?

Is he too young to let him cry it out? (11 weeks)

How long do I let him cry?

(Obviously I am a sucker and don't want to let him cry) I am hoping that crying it out is not the only option! But I don't want him in my bed till he is 10!

Help!!

I really want what's best for him, and his crib is what's best! gosh I think his crib looks pretty dang comfy. I don't know what his deal is!

So ANYONE who reads this and has ANY suggestions, they are welcomed and APPRECIATED!

Halloween/Porter's Blessing

Our little man got blessed Yesterday November 1st. He shared his special day with his Grandpa Mueller cus it was his birthday. It was such a special day. We have church at 9 so kind of early to get everything ready. I woke up with Port at 5, after I fed him I put him in his swing, cus he will sleep in that till I wake him up, yes I love that. Then I made some food and got ready. When we got to church he started to get a little fussy and when he went up for his blessing he made his cry in the microphone, and as soon as Ben started the blessing he stopped, and was quiet the whole blessing. It was an answer to our prayers. Ben did an amazing job and it was a beautiful blessing. Of course I just cried through the whole thing.I am so grateful for him and all he does for us. Of course after the blessing Port got fussy so Shane my brother was very nice to take him in the halls and put him to sleep! Thanks Shane!

Port was so good at our house to let everyone just hold him and not fuss. Usually when he gets passed around he hates it and will cry. He was great (exept for the picture with me of course) Overall it was a great day, and we are so grateful for those who helped make Porter's day so special.

Halloween this year we kind of ran out of time for costumes. My mom found this dog costume for Port so I was a cat, and Ben was a dog catcher. We had a fun week with a party at my mom's, pumpking carving with Ben's family, Party with Taggart's, and then on Halloween kara did a scavenger hunt that Ben got to go scare people in a gorilla costume. He loves doing things like that. Me and port stayed with my mom and passed out candy. I had one trick-or-treater who wanted to exhange a piece of candy cus he did not like it! I thought it was so funny!

So we are doing good. Port is now almost 10 weeks. last week he went in for his 2 month and got his shots. They do all the shots at once and he sceamed. It brought tears to my eyes. That night he was kind of fussy for a couple of hours but that is it. No fever or anything, so I was glad he took it well. My strong little man. He weighed (as of last Tuesday) 9 lbs 14 oz (25 percentile). 22 1/2 inches in length (50th percentile) and he was 10th percentile in his head! small head! He is getting big and we enjoy him so much. His personality comes out more and more everyday and i just melt when he smiles back at me! He hates to sleep in his own bed, which sucks and I am trying so hard..I keep telling myself one day he will be a good sleeper!!

First Vacation

Porter had his first vacation to Park City last weekend. I was extremely worried that he would not behave but he did great! We went with Ben's work, they got us all day passes to the alpine slides/coaster etc. Me and Ben each took a turn on the coaster while the other stayed with Porter. then some of his friends offered to watch Port while we went on the slide. I was nervous to leave him, and of course he was fussy for them! Ben's family was nice to come watch him while we went to dinner. It is always hard for me to leave him cus I am with him 24/7. we are best friends! But it was nice to get away for a little bit. Then we went shopping the next day, and he slept the whole time! what a champ! Maybe he knew that we were buying him clothes! And our night stay was the best night sleep I have gotten in awhile..I think he likes hotel rooms! It was a fun getaway but like always there is no place like home! I did not carry my camera around with me so all we have is picures in the car!

Porter is now 8 weeks old. He gets his 2 month shots here in a couple days. and his blessing is coming up too! i just cant believe how time is flying. He is still a skinny baby but boy is he long!

5 weeks!

My baby boy is 5 weeks already! Well as of tomorrow Oct. 1. Looking back that has gone by fast, but then the days seem slow! We are still adjusting to the new parent thing. I have a hard time staying home cus I get lonley, even though I have porter. We don't see Ben as much as we would like, cus he is working full time, going to school (was 18 credit hours but had to drop a class too overwhelming), and being in the elders quorm presidency. But he does try to give us his spare time, which we love! I am not going to say it's been the time of our lives, because it has been the most challenging things we have ever done, and I still am dealing with anxiety, but it is worth it! he is growing in front of our eyes! I already packed some of his newborn clothes! He does not like to sleep much cus he likes to explore everything, he is very alert! He is also very fussy, and fights sleep! We are working on that. Because of this I am very sleep deprived! We enjoy having him and are very blessed! We can not imagine our lives without him!

We are so happy he is here. We could not imagine life without him. We are adjusting to being new parent's. A challenge for sure, but so worth it!

Baby Shower

Last week Abbie and Cortney had a couple's baby shower for Ben and I. I have the greatest friends I know. I am not one to take a lot of pictures so a lot of the pictures are from Cort (thanks Cort I stole them). You can always count on her for having pictures! It was a fun night, they had an awesome dinner and fun games! And my pictures are always out of order sorry!

Thanks again Cort and Abs! It mean a lot to us! We are so lucky to have such great friends. I have also had a shower with my family that I didn't get any pictures of, then Ben's family is throwing me a shower tonight. I really do feel spoiled! I am hoping Porter comes any day now. I went to the doctor on Tuesday, he says I have dropped (but I can't tell), and I am at 2 cm. To me that does not mean a thing! He just keeps saying "see ya next week, unless something happens". So everyone cross your fingers for us, that Porter comes soon! (Well after you get home daddy)
